Specifications for Investment Casting Tolerances

(lost wax precision casting)  is mainly produce carbon steel and stainless steel, Casting Quality Industrial supply castings through three types method in China.

  1. Silica Sol
  2. Sodium Silicate
  3. Duplex

All Lost Wax precision casting follow ISO 8062 international standard.

Silica Sol Lost Wax Precision

Silica Sol type is the best option for stainless steel and carbon steel castings, the tolerance will meet ISO8062 CT4; but it’s the most expensive castings too. Generally it’s suitable for the important industry.

Sodium Silicate Lost Wax Precision

Sodium Silicate type only make the carbon steel and some cast iron parts. it’s quality is better much than sand casting and shell casting method, but worse than silica sol method. the tolerance can meet ISO8062 CT7. generally we will confine it as CT8 grade.

Duplex Lost Wax Precision

it’s difficult to explain Duplex method, it’s better than sodium silicate but worse than silica sol. The tolerance of castings will be at the middle level too.  it’s mainly produce carbon steel to achieve the good appearance,  stainless steel CF8M is available but the surface is not pretty.

the price is Pretty, welcomed in some unimportant usage.

The more  strictly tolerance also can be supplied, it’s not a popular investment casting, very expensive method for high grade stainless steel.
