Applications
Martensitic stainless steel ASTM A743 Grade CA40F is used for cast bodies and caps of thermodynamic steam traps. Manufacturer documentation identifies steam-main drainage, tracer lines and process-equipment service as application examples. Other cast components used in this material family include impellers, pump casings, valve bodies and internal pump and valve parts.
These castings are used in water-service pumping systems, industrial process equipment and power-generation facilities.
