Grade 80-40 [550-275] Casting Chemical Requirements and Mechanical Property:
All steel grades in ASTM A48 require Sulfur and Phosphorus composition only:
Sulfur: 0.06 % max
Phosphorus: 0.05 % max
Other chemical composition such as Carbon, Manganese, Silicon and alloying elements, shall be selected by an agreement between the manufacture and the purchaser.
