SS316 is same property as CF8M, SS304 is same as CF8.
CF8M is better than CF8.
Sure, you can make the rings from CF8M billet by CNC machining.

Sure, it’s same as ss316.
ss316 is a grade for plate.
F316 is a grade for forged purpose
CF8M is a grade for casting purpose.
those are same material, just different purpose.

If good heat treatment, CF8M should be no magnet, because the metallurgical structure will be the most Austenite after solution treatment.

Bad heat treatment or no heat treatment, structure will have Martensite or Ferrite, those two structure have magnet.

The heat treatment just improve all structure to Austenite.
